OK guys, for pig hunting , relatively short range ( 50 yards or so) how many lumens should my light be?
I know nothing of these things but I think Ive got enough with 320 lumens.....sound right?

Also, what color? Green, white, or red?

Try a red lens on the light you have now and see if it gives you good visibility

320 is plenty. I never found red lights make any difference shooting pigs at night.

Edit: Green seemed like a slight improvement over white.

Red light will help preserve your night vision.

Poobah, 320 lumens is plenty. I prefer green over red here at the Ranch. Seems to spook less hogs, IMO

Thought of that...I wonder how that stuff holds up to the heat....the little lite gets warm on 320 lumens...

May be going to that anyway. Thanks!

If they can hold up to broadcasting/film camera lights, they can hold up to a flashlight smile
I can check at work tomorrow for scraps and if I can find some I'll send them to you for free to try.

That's true. You might find what you need for $5 with a little more digging.
