Buddy just ordered one of the Dumoulin actions from Sarco, other than a single shot, can it be made to feed?

Yep a number of Zastava 98's have been done in Australia to 404.
Mine is done on a Winchester which started life as a 270 so go for it!

Jeffery managed it --- the round is the same OAL as the 375 H&H and there are thousands of them made on standard 98's.

G'day 22WRF, I had the bolt stop done, the magazine changed and a little bit taken off the rear of the action. Those are the things I am 100% certain of. The feed rails were reworked and the so was the lead into the chamber. I don't have all the specs I am sorry, but in use a Weibe XRM 375 box and follower to get 3 down in the standard configuration with a fourth in the chamber.

Meant to add that all up she is under 9 pounds and the sights are cut for 75m zero. Started life as a LH mod 70 270 Winchester so it's easily doable.
The easiest way to do it on a Mod70 is to pick up a 7mm STW and junk the barrel straight up that way you just need to screw the barrel on and make some minor bolt mods and you are good to go. (I forgot that you have to play with the extractor and boltface in the initial post).

Mog

A dummazz decision in my view as a 416 Rem M70 just works, easily. That said, I am guilty of being a dumbazz. Here a rather simple 416 Rem.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Note- Sunny Hill http://www.sunny-hill.com/ makes rings that will fit the action without additional bases. They are not on the web site, you will have to call. $210 fixed and $225 QD

Thanks all for the replies.
Ed, my buddy likes dumbazz! He already has a 416Rigby, 458Win, 375H&H, and a 350Rem mag. Wants this action to be in a traditional African caliber.
Nice rifle by the way, as usual of your rifle pics.

Ed nice rifle but it says Rem after the 416! That will never do!!!!
Besides the 404 is actually really really easy to make go fast and is easier on the shoulder than any of the other large mediums in my experience.
Best regards,
Mog
