I can't imagine it was a big enough issue to the factory by then to have cared whether it slip closed or not. They were trying to stay solvent and adding work to the assembly process was likely not in the cards.

The 375 saddle gun i had would slip close also,it was basically a new gun,i dont own it any more !! cry cry but it went to a good home ! grin

I have a 99CE that will slip close. 3 other 99CE's will not. Just slight differences in manufacturing I guess.
