I picked up a Ruger Scout in 308. I sent it to JES reboring. He rebored it to 358 winchester. I got it back in in a little over two weeks after sending it to him. I threw it back in the stock and ran to the range. From a hundred yards offhand the group is a little over 3 inches. I did not adjust the scope from 308. This was with some white box winchester with 200 grain silvertips. I can' wait to work up some handloads. Thanks, Tom

I am the proud owner of a cerrakoted and re stocked Remmy model 7600 that was re bored from 30/06 to 35Whelen. Much the same idea with a fast handling rifle in a thumper cartridge. Mine shoots wonderful groups with about any reasonable ammo.
I cannot wait to hunt with it, maybe even next fall.

Well, I don't know anything about high fashion, but I do know I wanted a 35 caliber rifle that was fast handling. The scout fit the bill, only too small of caliber. Rebore and it fit perfect. Mounted a scout scope on it and I am good to go.

Sweet! Had several .358 win over the years its a good round!
I had JES re-bore a Tikka 270 win to 35 Whelen, turn around was less than 3 weeks and he does good work and the gun is a shooter!

I cannot wait to hunt with it, maybe even next fall. I've yet to see a 760/7600 that didn't give good accuracy. I have one in .35 Whelen myself. I have a Ruger 77 in .358 as well but I rebarreled it rather than have it rebored.

i love the 35's. i have a bunch of 35 rems, a 358, a 350 mag and a 35 whelen in bolts, pumps and levers. all of them shoot great with 200 grain heads. i just got the rings for my ruger 77 RS carbine and am putting a burris shortmag on it for this season. should be poking holes in the backstop with it this weekend. it will be one of my deer guns this year for sure.

I really like 35's as well. They aren't needed for the hunting I do, lots of smaller rounds would accomplish the same end, but I like them none the less. They all seem really easy to find an accurate load for...except for 1 they are wearing custom barrels so that might have something to do with it.
Maybe I have sissy ears, but it seems they have more of a dull "boom" that is easier on my ears than the sharp "crack" of smaller calibers on the same case.
