No problem. For $400 one can buy decent variable. While I keep my on lowest setting (1.5, 2, 3 or 4x depending on scope) when hunting there is no law that says you can't keep it at 6x.

You gotta be VERY patient to find $250. Just sold two M8 6x42's with MC4 here on the classifieds for $275 and $285 shipped. One w/o box and one with. They both went quick.
