I'm working tonight and we usually get quite a few that come by the station.

We've got extra candy stashed so no chance of running out.

Just came home from my son's house, in town, nice neighborhood.
T&T runs from 4-7PM, I left about 6:30 and the count was over 250 kids.
Typical, even thought it was spitting snow and strong winds.

Last year we passed out over 320 bags of candy. This in a small town of 800 - 900 residents. Usually last from 5 till 9:30.

We have had no kids in 8 years, but I bought a bag of candy bars just in case wink I live at the end of a dead end road 1/2 up the hill from a county gravel road. Most of the local kids go to town where the pickins are easier.

none, to far out in the sticks and too long a walk from the road. Always keep candy in case any of the kids in the area decide it's worth the trouble

people across the street turn their home into a haunted house. Its usually a big attraction and the kids hit our house afterwards.

I got thur about 2 bags of the 250 piece candy but this year, the weather was bad and the high school had a football game so we just had maybe 25 kids.

I'm gonna eat chocolate until thanksgiving

In the twelve years I've lived here, I haven't had one. Probably because I don't put any decorations for it out. Not to mention, I'm known to have scary looking dogs, and my entire property is surrounded by a fence with a locked gate. Little hints like that let them know I'm not participating.

My sister's hood about 15 minutes away had everything from a parade & fireworks to the busing in of kids. She said she's already given out well over 200 bags and they're still coming.

It cost a small fortune to give out candy.

We had 14 this year. Had 5 of them in the house for an hour chit-chatting.

All kids from the bus, which I no longer drive. A couple of hugs too, because they miss Mr. Scott.

We're pretty small town here, less than 2,000 people. We had the usual, about a dozen kids. Most with moms and/or dads. Wife and I laughed our azzes off. Last little guy, no more than 2 y.o. was dressed as a cowboy. He was more interested in the kitty-kat, than any candy. I think he'd have been happier if we threw the cat in his bag. Nice to see kids being kids.

We live in a neighborhood that attracts lots of trick or treaters from neighboring communities and normally are completely run over by herds of the little crumb gobblers.

Tonight though, the numbers were less than average. Much less than average. The Mrs. says we had less than half of what we normally experience.

More leftovers for me...

0-4. Depends on if a couple friends drop by on their way home from t or ting in the small town we live outside of. No one on our road gives out anything so the draw isn't. there. We always have lots of candy on hand and give out multiple full-size candy bars. Wish we had more.

Just a little over a hundred bags, other years 200 to 300 depending on the weather. Numbers are down everywhere around here, a lot of people opted to have house parties for the young ones. The town hosted a party for those who are 12 to 18 years old. Spiderman was the most seen costume this year, followed closely by sparkly fairy princesses.

I wonder if there's a mathematical function that would explain the possible relationship of members with high numbers of trick or treaters are more likely to NOT self-process their own deer at home.

Which would also possibly prove valid that high number trick or treaters = dont DIY process deer also = claims they never have time and space and also high number trick or treaters also = people who seemingly have to run to the store every 15 minutes.
So, lots of trick or treaters = more wear and tear on garage door openers too.

Accurate observation. Those of us who have lots of T or T's look forward to retiring and moving to a place like you currently have. wink

Ended up getting cleaned out of candy last night. One of my favorite nights of the year. Parents walk around with the kids, so I spent the night handing out candy and talking hunting/fishing with the dads. Doesn't get much better, IMO. Everybody is sooo bucked up in town right now.

We haven't had any in the 11 years that we have lived here. As the population in our little village has thinned out, the community organized a Halloween Night celebration at the community center. They have a program for the kids, costume contests and soft drinks. At the end, all of the adults go out to their cars and pickups and open their trunks or tailgates. The kids make their rounds in their costumes in the parking lot, trick or treating for candy and other treats at each vehicle. Population density is just too low for kids to go house to house anymore.

This provides a great visual!!! Especially, on Halloween. Guessing they were decorated as kitty cats or witches. grin

Typical, even thought it was spitting snow and strong winds.

Ditto on 12 - in just four groups. Ditto on the rain too - it drizzled/showered all day here, pretty much killed the trick or treat action.
