"Snow"? "Lake ice"? What are these creatures of which you speak? 40F and sunny w. broken cloud here. I was out stacking firewood in a long-sleeve shirt. (But yes, it is The Wet Coast and we all know what will happen...and all too soon, alas.) Stuart

Sitting here with my 1st cup of Folgers Black Silk, a couple fried eggs, warmed up piece of moose steak and toast, looking out the front window at about 4-6 inches of snow, and the thermometer says a cool -4*F. Thunder Lake is frozen around the shore line, but the middle is still open. Won't be long before us Northern Ontarians will start calling it winter.

We have rain in the forecast here (Fraser Valley BC )... And as you will discover when you get up this morning, the weather mavens' prognostications were actually right. I've just come in (4:30am) from covering up all that firewood, having foolishly hoped that the rain would hold off for another day. Gotta love all that free lumber wrap, though. Stuart

Just south of Huntsville, Ontario, easily two feet of snow in last two days and still snowing, windy but not really cold. It makes life easier if you just leave the snow blower in the garage running. Deer are heading for another really tough winter. BillR

Tropical heat wave today. Sitting right at the freezing point. Might break out the sunblock and Bermuda shorts.

I'm quafflin" on askin" for pictures of the shorts! If "quafflin'" means what I think it does, probably a wise decision. Carry on quafflin'. (Sig. line changed to reflect current meterological conditions)

Rest easy -- there ain't a camera strong enough to survive capturing that image!

Rest easy -- there ain't a camera strong enough to survive capturing that image! Now we know the REAL reason Kodak went out of business- "shorted out." We're catching up with you folks in the frozen north. Plummeted (relative term!) to 18 deg.F last night. It was just a tad parky when I went out on the deck to toss the coffee grounds this morning. Already (1 day) the Vancouver papers are filled with pictures of traffic jams and accidents- and it hasn't really even snowed there yet. Plus a change...
