I feel it important to remind people that the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land. The way the 2nd Amendment is worded, all these proposed gun laws are invalid. The anti-gun lobby masks the debate in terms of 'common sense' but leaves out the part where any law that conflicts with the Constitution in invalid. It is just that simple. The States have authority to legislate according to their own legislators' consciences, but laws that infringe on the 2nd Amendment are invalid the instant they are signed.
There is such power in the Constitution, particularly in the Bill of Rights. Not to grant rights, but to limit the scope of government power.
