I'd buy a Tikka and spend the money on glass.

If I bought a Tikka, I'd re-stock it anyways. So, it's basically a wash. I'll go 700 and upgrade over time.

I know there's some Tikka lovers on here, but I'm not one of them.

Last one - miss this one, now owned by another campfire member:)

Next one currently in the works will be similar except a Bartlein 2B barrel.

Jon Beanland built, BDL Classic Edge in olive & black splatter, worked factory trigger, Kamfeld bolt flute & bolt knob, side bolt release, action lightened, Brux #3 1-9",fluted & finished @ 22.5, , Leupold DD's & scope, 7 lbs 3 ozs. Balance was perfecto IMHO.

Here's one more. Classic Edge ADL, Brux #3 1-9", fluted & finished @ 22.5" Jewell, Talleys, Leupold Mark 2 3x9x40, Ti fluted bolt by Kampfeld. Jon Beanland built, 7 lbs 4 ozs. It shoots:)

That's exactly the way I would build a 7-08 as well. I'll bet it shoots too..

Any pics of the side bolt release ?

McMillan Sako Classic.

Broughton #3 cut to 20". 1" shank.

Howa Ultralight (or WTF they call it) action.

Timney trigger.

6X42 and Talley LW's.

Photo is not a prop. I was about to schit my pants and there were no trees readily available.

This one shows a little better - Karl did both its just on the black rifle I can't get a good picture. I like having them on my 700's.

It's just a simple Neoprene cover. I found it at Gene Taylors Sporting Goods in Gunnison, CO. I needed something to protect the lenses during transport since the Leica issued lense flush cups broke off long ago...Works great, comes off when hunting, stays on when I'm not.

Sooner or later our heritage of hunting is going to be a rich mans sport and the words "Outfitter" and "Hunt Industry" will be synonymous with cancer and A.I.D.S. among blue collar hunters like me and my family! (A.L. Williams - 2010)

Oregon,

Any reasoning why you choose 22.5" over 22"?

Having handled Frank's rifles, I think he has the balance equation down. They feel great.

No real practical reason - I just like it that way.
