At the end of a week trying to get my 12 year old nephew on a deer (longer story) I new better than to come home empty handed myself...

I have no problem shooting does but this guy showed up and a small buck is more of known quantity than the risk of walking up on a 'doe' that is just a fawn.

283 yards from a 7mm SAUM running ~2950fps (I need to chronograph them to say for sure). Shot entered the forward right shoulder and the bullet was recovered in the rib meat behind the left shoulder. Passing through the rib cage it clipped the bottom of the spine.

As you can see the bullet shed ALL of the core. This was my first critter taken with an Amax and I am totally satisfied with the performance. But I'm not sure they'll replace TSXs for close work. Now I need to fill my extra doe tag with a 75 Amax for another test.

I dig the 162s out of my 7 WSM on deer sized game. Used that combo on some clean out jobs last year and it's performance was impressive.

Two deer down this year with the 140s out of a .260 and it's looking good so far. I too plan on plugging a couple with the 75s outta my 223 AI to see WTF.....

Everybody knows AMAX will turn to metal dust upon impact with onion skin.

I've been using the 168 gr. Amax out of my 308 Win for about 4 years now (Hornady factory match load). I've killed 4 nice whitetail bucks and a nice antelope with them so far. I actually managed to recover the bullet from my buck this year and it still weighs 121 grains after breaking the spine at the shoulders. There is no arguing with results, I'll keep using it.
