I couldn't pass it up. Interarms Mark X in decent shape for $250. But it's a 270. I've never had one before and I'm scared that it means I'm gay now. And I don't want to be gay. If I rebarrel it to a better caliber, would I be not gay again? if you have to ask that question, you probably know the answer already.

Nothing wrong with a .270, it's what I bought for the wife.
Then it came with a recoil pad, I loaded 130's down to about 2700, and it has no more recoil than a .243.
Besides Remington LH700 BDL's in .270 for under four hundred bucks, Leupold 3x9 attached, are hard to walk away from, even if it was 6 or 7 years ago.

I suggest loading 100 gr hp loads and take it to a prairie dog town. Then you can call the .223 shooters gay.
