I have ended up with 3, 7STW long range hammers, one is a Custom shop Sporting Sharpshooter, Schneider barrel, timmney trigger, McMillian stock, the other 2 are Long range laredos , one 24" with BOSS, one 26" non boss. ALL are tack drivers. I will sell either of the Laredos, I tend to shoot the boss gun better but it has the best scope on it so that may be the reason Im a tad better with it. I was able to buy a case of Fed Prem 160 gr accubonds to have brass, they shoot so good I doubt I will reload. I also have 2 sets of dies. PM if any of you foks have an interest. The Laredos do have truck axle barrels! I will post photos of all 3 later as Im having computer problems this morning! very best winpoor

I'm sure someone does. I'll be working on my own elk hammer that is more weather resistant than my 338 Alaskan. It will be built on a pre 64 model 70 action, be a 338 win mag with stainless barrel, cerakoted, barrel shortened to 23", brown precision stock...Hows that for a hammer??? grin

Bump for a great guy trying to get rid of a long range hammer.. Good luck with it winpoor ol buddy...

BSA I have a pre64 build that is similar to your pending project. Mine started out as a 1954 pre64. Had a SS Shilen match grade 24" in 300 Win Mag screwed on after nickel plating the action. Laid it up in a Brown stochastic with a Leupold 2.5 x8. Had to apply a little forearm pressure to tighten the groups up. I was getting sub 1" groups using 180 Nosler

Sounds nice buddy. When you get back to civilization, post some pictures of that bad boy. I'd love to see it. I'm sure winpoor would too.
