Head's up, if you have a Neoair but dislike blowing the darn thing up (I do), pick up a Neoair Minipump.

I gave it a go this year and it's outstanding... turn it on, walk away to do other things while it inflates your pad.

2.3 oz's and worth it:

Been using one for years. The guys at sheep camp heard it come on and the "hair dryer" comments began

After I got the mini-pump, I upgraded from the Neo Air X-Therm regular to the X-Therm large. It's nice not having your arms on the ground:)

Yeah, "Ken and Barbies" hair dryer! laugh

This is obviously old hat for you and Ed... I'm just glad at least I gave it a try this year. It's actually one of those things that work and make a small, but real difference.

I never look forward to blowing up my X-Large NeoAir...That looks like a sweet little piece of gear!

What sort of noise do they make... quiet enough I suppose, huh? laugh

Been using one for a little over a year now after seeing my buddy use one. Not so much for blowing up our big agnes pads or neo airs but using them to help get a rippin' fire in a wood stove in a tipi is what sold me. Go from a couple little flames to a red hot fire box in no time!

Multiuse is what finally convinced me to bring one on trips where I am bringing a wood stove along...otherwise I'll save the weight and huff and puff wink

I also have been using the Camptek version for a couple years and yes it is a terrific bellows for the wood stove.
If I am going ultralight, I go with a small Neo Air and blow it up, but the large is way more comfy.

Last time it was the Olicamp XTS pot. (Which worked great in Idaho and the NC mountains!)

Snub, sorry... laugh

I try to be selective about what I recommend based on actually using it!

The Olicamp is good stuff for sure. I have one in my stove "arsenal."

Snubbie is impressionable. I took him llama packing and now he's Heidi the goat packer. grin

I don't find inflating the neo to be too burdensome...the big Agnes has a much more restrictive valve and sucks to inflate in comparison.

Along these lines, figure out how to make the 4-D cell Coleman mattress inflator blow into your river raft. I use a piece of 5/8" heater hose. One set of Batts will blow up more rafts than it should.

Ha! Those goats are eating me out of house and home. Just bought a half ton bale of hay for them! And the chickens... I figure each egg I get is worth about $70!!

But I like those little goat boys!

you guys that use them

any adapters for them to blow up other brand air mattresses?

can't see how it would work with a thermarest, but perhaps EXped down mattress?

Looks pretty slick. But it costs $40.

I have 2 inflaters, one is a 12V and the other runs on batteries. The battery one is too heavy for backpacking but it works great on llama pack trips. The nozzles on both didn't fit any air pad made. I used a 2" piece of 5/8" garden hose that more or less fits over both the nozzle and the mattress valve. It holds on close enough to get the job done.

Thanks Ed! I love my Exped and hate using the bag to inflate
