I am here because I am following the site rules and Mr. Bin gave me another chance.

IF there is a 30-06 No. 1 and a fore-end for sale, why is everyone afraid to give me the links ? As soon as you send them, I'll send you the link to the 270 I just bought.

As for the rifles not being mine, I believe that horse has been beaten to death and you will not bait me into breaking Mr. Bin's trust.

450/400 restocked with buttstock off 1976 458 and 450/400 fore-end both redone in English red. Moa rifle with NEI .411 cast bullets.

Note rare Unertl white dot Hawk with click adjustments.

You know where I live and I would be happy to show any of you the rifles if you wish.

best to you and yours, Larry

Like you offered Bricktop.... then proceeded to call whom you thought was him employer, as well as LEO, Sheriffs, etc.?

And one of the Sublet county deputies was going to hold the 10k and officiate? yeah right!

Good times!

A real .270 Liberty #1:

[Linked Image]

Both it and the .475 Turnbull I posted earlier did make an appearance at the last Quemado Gathering. I actually did show up and meet people. smile

It shoots well, too.

[Linked Image]

I took it hunting last year as a backup. I checked zero at 50 yards, and it put three into one hole. And I do mean one hole. At 50 yards with the Loopey turned up to 10x, I could see only one hole after three shots. Concerned, I moved the POA about an inch, and a 4th hole appeared an inch away. smile

I may bring it to the Hog Hunt, just to annoy .270 haters smile

I never said a fore-end is for sale,it is "WTB" ad that YOU larry started.

Also get off your butt and search the classifieds for the Ruger No.1 .30-06. crazy

That's how I found it.

The .475 has pretty nice wood, and it is the most accurate big bore have ever seen.

So far I have 500's up to 1975 fps out of the .475. It has about 5% less case capacity than a .458 Win, but a very long throat, so I am hoping to reach 2100 fps. At that point it's solidly in .470 Nitro class.

It also weighs a hair over 9 lbs, with the scope & mounts. grin

You sir are an iron man. For that kind of horsepower the Brits use a standing bench rest so you can roll with the recoil. SSK says they will make you a 600 Nitro on a No. 1 !

Tell you what, even if you don't reach 2100 fps, there's not a elephant,Cape buffalo, hippo that is going to know the difference.

You going to bring the .475 to Quemado this August?

Childish but funny. The Fore-end ad was a WTB, not for sale. Really have no use for yet another 06' but I did just buy a really nice Black Pad ANIB, right here, for less than any new one. It's also a 7mm remmag w/a 26" bbl.

I'm not taking the bait anymore, I'll just keep buying nice No. 1s from the gentlemen on this site.

My modest collection of No. 1s.

[Linked Image]

All were red pads except the 450/400 which was restocked with a 1976 458 stock
that had been dipped in spar varnish. A big job but worth it.

300 H&H was a 30-06 1B that got changed, sights, BB and an AH fore-end.

The 2 with pads were not cut and I still have the red pads for them.

Just bought two more here this week from nice gentlemen.

Very nice wood on all of them!

I can see you follow the adage, "Life is to short to hunt with ugly guns."

I'm thinking it is getting close for me to take a new No.1 group photo.

I am "still here" because I am following Mr. Bin's rules on site behavior.

It is unfortunate that a few (very few) of you cannot follow them as well.

As for being a liar ..... well the No.1Bs in 270 and 7mm Rem Mag are on the way.
I'll be sure to post photos of them when they arrive for your edification.

May I suggest you go back and read the post describing what Bill O'Reilly said about "haters" ?

That one certainly does have a very figured fore-end-end. Most No. 1s have very plain fore-ends, even the ones with exhibition level buttstocks.

My 2010 production .300 H&H has very nice wood.
[Linked Image]

The fore-end has a straight grain and is quite typically plain.
[Linked Image]

I have a Boddington in .450 NE on its way to me. Looks to have fairly plain wood. I only have the store's stock image of that one:
