No bites on the brass? How about a set of Weaver detachable scope rings - look like 1 inch. Not in the package but they look like new to me.

they are yours gophergunner. Message me your address and I will get them in the mail. My PIF for Mssgn's stuff is an old Outer's .22 cal. cleaning kit. Looks like brand new, still in the original metal box with the original cardboard box. Everything is there and appears to be unused except for the bottle of gun oil. Would make a nice display piece for the man cave or a very useable cleaning kit.

Oregon Tripper gets the cleaning kit. Does anyone know of a kid that could make use of that Bushnell and really needs a scope? If someone lines up a kid, I'll send Oregon Tripper the money to ship the scope to the kid in need.

Incidentally, I work at Wal-mart and they always get in some gift sets with lower end knives in them for Christmas-would make great "starter" gear for some new hunters. If they have stuff left after Christmas, they always put it on clearance. I usually pick a few up to give out to kids getting started. If you know of any kids getting geared up for hunting, keep this in mind. I'll know what's left in the store as soon as we get past Christmas.

Jeff, thanks a bunch for the Outers kit. That's a fine gesture and if we find a yongster in need of this scope, I'll pony up another PIF item.
Over on the Hunting Rifles forum, let's see what we can get going for a youth hunter package? Paul posted he's game. How about another round, for the New Year?

Is that the one Seafire's heading up? If so, I'm all ready in. If not, I'll check the other one out and see what I can do to help out. The kids are the future of this sport and we've got to help get them started.

I've got 3 scopes up for any in need: 2 appear good, one needs a trip to Bushnell/seals or cleaning. Simmons AETEC, Proline 3-9, and Bushnell 1.5-6 Litesite (fogged).

I'll take the Simmons Aetec, and pay it forward with the base and ring combo of your choice: Encore dual dovetail; Winchester 70; Remington 700 / Howa; Winchester WSSM....only the Encore and one of the Remingtons are dual dovetail. The rest are standard.

My PIF for the .243 dies is a rattle bag for calling deer. The kind you roll between you hands to imitate two bucks fighting.

John Boy has the Artec, and I got a PM on the Proline. I I could use an encore base. The Bushnell Banner LiteSite is still available. It is now clear/bright and fully functional, other than I can't vouch for the dot, as I have no batteries to test it, and I'd doubt it's waterproof/fog proof abilities. 1.5-6x20.

I'll take it on the Proline if it's still available. My PIF for the Proline is a set of Leupold-packaged Weaver style bases for a Remington Model 700. The packaging says "Rev. Front" which I'm guessing means reversed front, or extended front base. Still in the packaging, with the screws and wrench. I'd call them NIB, but didn't take them out of the packaging to look for nicks or scratches. Oh yeah-they're blued, not stainless.
