I'm missing something I guess, Those rifles are uglier than a sack full of mashed azzholes to me.

Whats the deal with them? 1/8 inch groups at 500 yards or something?

Find a SA with sights in that stock....see what it goes for.

I'm a Ruger fan and hated that stock. Any of you guys have one of the first ones with the green inserts?

In regards to the American comments...

We sell a bunch of rifles and the American is the hands down winner in sales. It's crazy, but no other bolt platform comes close. The Americans sell 10 to 1 over any other bolt model. Doesn't matter if it's a 700, Hawkeye, 70, Tikka or Savage Axis.

Inexpensive black rifles are the only thing that tops American sales. We sold 125 DPMS Oracles last week.

Would you say price is the overriding factor? For the money a new shooter could get into a rig without pissing off momma too bad. On the other hand, it seems fellas just wanting another tool in the box are jumping on them pretty hard. And it's proven they shoot.

Win/Win

Just curious as to the "why". Not trying to piss up a rope on this vs. that...

hell you should look at what revolvers are selling for...I thought I paid too much for a 5" S&W 610, a year or so ago. Now I'm thinking of just pocketing a substantial profit crazy

Price has a lot to do with it, as do accuracy reports. We sell blued models for $331 and stainless for $386. The predators are $350ish. I also think the Ruger name has something to do with it.

I also see "rifle" guys buying them too, not just the economy shoppers. I really can't explain it. We ran out of 223's last Saturday and I got 10 more in. We're out again until Tuesday.

I've always liked boatpaddles. I've even suggested that a savvy stock maker should pick up the idea/pattern, but these two auctions shocked me! I had no idea!

Someone's trying to corner the market.

I don't ever recall Ruger having any complete "dogs", but have only had a handful. Never had one that wouldn't shoot.

I'd say first mover advantage to Tikka, second mover to Ruger. Kinda surprised Remington couldn't pull it off. I think Winchester has something on the horizon.

I thought you mentioned something about a 6.8 SPC RAR at one time. That cartridge in the Ranch model would get my attention. And for no other reason than because "its there".

That's how I'd roll. But since this same guy paid $4k for a 7mm-08 Ultralight, I'm guessing he's trying to collect all of them. More power to him. Like I said in my original post, I have a few of these and like them, but 308s etc are easy to come by and re-barrel is way less expensive for something I'm just going to shoot and hunt.
