Slow Sunday here with the wife running errands, kids quiet, mostly rainy.

I found a pre-war 99E in 250 for sale, but not enough condition to interest me. Not much going on.

Went deer hunting with my muzzleloader. Missed a nice doe right at dark. Today's the last day of muzzleloader season; tomorrow through January 1 is late doe season. I'll be out with my Encore 20 gauge. I still don't have one in the freezer this year and I'm starting to get a little nervous.

Spent the last little while looking at buying enough land to hunt my Savages rifles on our own property out of the province. I want to hunt these 250-3000s, not just look at them.

Spent the afternoon and evening watching this auction on and off.

Thought it might fly in under the radar this close to Christmas and I could get it cheap.

New owner still got it at a reasonable price IMO.

Nice gun.

I'd have been a player at 1000.

Don't see many in this condition.

Might regret not buying it someday...

Worked our local Holiday food outreach thru our church this morning, gave away/delivered about 4 pickup loads of groceries to families locally.

After we got home, I sorted thru some brass in the reloading room. Loaded up about 6 different loads for a 35REM rifle that I am experimenting with.

Illinois took the 2 late deer seasons away from my county this year, so I lost about 50% of my season.. frown

50% less season, but tags still cost the same..govt for ya..

trying to figure out how to get photobucket to send photos of the elk I shot yesterday to the forum. This is the first time I tried to use it in about 2 months. Have they changed the way it works? Any help would be appreciated. David

I have been keeping an eye on this one - I originally was wondering if it even would get the starting bid of $650... 51 bids but all by just two bidders - 1903 on GB ...front sight is worth a couple bills plus, but still...

If anyone knows the losing bidder, tell him that although none of my Savage pumps were for sale a few hour ago, all could be for sale now!

Here are a couple for comparison -
1903 on GB listed as 1906
1903 on GB

That auction smells bad.

Rich guys pull all manner of unscrupulous crap, I'd be wary.

Not often, but, once in a while Photobucket failed to upload for me. PB wants files around 100k in size, 3 meger's need to be reduced. Sometimes I've renamed the file from .jpg to .bmp and then it worked too. Not sure why??

I'll probably load some .300's tonight for the 1920, and carry it deer hunting. I'm mostly off this time of year and our general season runs until Jan 4th.

Getting ready to go off to work. Gonna' put my Lightfoot mount on a 250 Sav EG and top it off with a Leupold 2.5 X 8 this coming week end. That is if I can get the original rear sight off. Might have to make a trip to the smith to get that accomplished. I'll post some pictures when the job is complete. eek

Merry Christmas to all!!

Pulled my Dad's M99G Deluxe out of the safe a little while ago and softly stroked it while oiling it down.

Tis the season......anything I am doing now is up to my Hoyt (bow)...or my Ruger 96 22mag. Until I get back to Idaho. Then the 250/3000 is going coyote hunting.
