obviously I mean no disrespect to the SWFA 6x42 guys.

I just think a variable is more versatile and it's lighter weight

plus I believe you can get a turret for the Vortex

just having fun with this

Both look like good scopes however, IMO, both are way too heavy for a rimfire rifle unless you're a static hunter.

Perfect is in the eye of the beholder. I squirrel hunt with my .22s. Big, bulky, heavy scopes are a PITA in the squirrel woods. The majority of my shooting is at 4x or lower. YMMV wink

My 452 wears a(now discontinued) Weaver Classic K2.5...My 10/22 is sporting a K4. I don't know about perfect, but I'm not changing either.

There is a perfect rimfire scope and it was made by Leupold - the Compact 6X with AO laugh I have never found a better hunting/sporter rifle scope and all my hunting (tree rat rifles) .22s wear one with the Leupold Dot reticle - of course that is just my opinion wink

Not for $500 ...

I'll still take a VX-2 3-9x AO not much better for a spotter

+1. That and the 3.5 - 10 x 40 AO are prolly my 2 favorites for rimfires.

Dave.
