Handled one of these new production rifles last week. Looks good, feels good. But how does it shoot? If you have had a chance to test one of these 10/22 variants, let's hear what you think.

Thanks, RS

Mine shoots really well. I have yet to shoot it a lot, but what I have, it shoots most ammo good. Just used bulk stuff as of yet. I have just recently acquired some CCI SV, SK Standard Plus, among others. It will be interesting to see how it does with that ammo.

I would say buy one if you can find one for a good price.

RipSnort,

All of the excitement over the LVT's was because the one gunblast reviewed shot 1/4 inch groups at 50 yards. Mine was closer to a 1/2" gun. I sold the barrel and used the rest for a build I planned.

The other plus to the LVT's is they are lighter than the steel bull barrels, but to me still a bit hefty for hiking the hills.

LGS had 3 or 4 of them in stock. Looked them all over and grabbed the one with the best wood - hard to do considering the stock is stained birch. Waiting on optics, but I did take it out and run a couple rounds thru it for a function test. Trigger is advertised as being better, but I'm going to take issue with that. IMHO it's no better or worse than the trigger in a 50th Anniv. 10/22 I picked up when they first appeared. The LVT will be seeing a KIDD trigger upgrade. As for handling, it's heavier than the 'regular' 10/22, but lighter than the bull barrel versions. I do like the balance.

With optics mounted later this week I'll be better able to tell how well in fact it does shoot.

Interesting. I have not seen this variant. I had my standard rifle trigger done up by TTShooter and it is now less than 1/2" maybe 1/4" at 25 yds. Nice light pull. Leupold 4X Rimfire mounted.

The LVT is an exclusive 10/22 run for AcuSport. The barrel tapers from .920 at the receiver to ~.720 at the muzzle; no sights. Stained birch stock, S/S and blued versions available.

Green Mountain Barrels used to make a light varmint contour for the 10/22. I installed one on a friend's deluxe walnut and was impressed enough to get one for myself.

One day I'll get around to hook mine own up. His would put 10 shots in a group the size of a nickel at 50 yds with Wolf Target ammo.

I've been looking to get a 10/22 and had kinda settled on the LVT. Having never owned a 10/22, I thought I'd look to the wisdom on the members here on the fire to see what y'all had to say about it.

What would be a good price?

$310 - $325.

Picked mine up for $309 plus tax at the LGS.

How picky are they about what brand 22 ammo?

So far mine's digested everything I've fed it - CCI Mini-Mags, Federal Bulk, Remington Bulk, and Eley to name a few. No hiccups with any of it.
