Probably the biggest boar I've shot (made a nice skull mount): Best wild sow I've shot: Biggest boar I've seen shot on my place: Heaviest hog I've shot, at nearly 400lbs (maybe partly domestic?):

If I've taken one bigger, I don't have a picture. He was 80 kg, dressed, per the scale. A nice trophy for the last evening of an excellent hunt. FC

From early (read: naive) days of hunting. In hindsight, pretty sure they led this thing out on a rope the morning we went out hunting.....

I'll play. Here's my first. Taken in Tennessee "within the confines". As odd as this might sound, I think I would rather shoot pigs than deer. Looking forward to the Texas trip this spring.

Um, you seem to have a feral cat problem too ! Yup 308. As for the felines. They are my thundering herd. See I'm a cat herder! . We had a real rodent problem. Now it is rectified! The kitty population is pretty stable now. It is kept in check by local coyotes, fast Fed Ex delivery vans and other means of attrition.

Here is a hog my son got a few years ago when we were actively hunting them: His first bowkill: My prettiest hog; shot her in the head with my .350 mag. You can see where the bullet exited and creased her left front leg. She was facing me and I was in a stand. She dropped in a sleeping position.

We were having a family get together/BBQ about 3 years ago when all the hogs came rooting they the bottom behind the yard. Son in law, who had never seen a hog before busted this old boar with a .270. Notice white shirt!!! We werent expecting hogs to show at our little party. But what the heck! Hunt when you can!

Hey Ingwe, one of them don't count (pardon my Southern grammar!).

I know...just trying to sleaze him in there...Im off this week to kill a couple more ( regular hogs) but we are pretty much gunning for eaters, so I don't anticipate any monster hero shots.

Here's my best. Didn't weigh it, but my late best friend Sharpshooter and I couldn't move it more than about 6" at a tug when trying to reposition it for the pic. I'm guessing he was pretty close to 400 pounds. Here's the second best. Didn't put him on the scale either, but did measure him with a tape measure. He measured 60" from the tip of the nose to the base of his tail and 32" from the bottom of his from hoof to the top of his shoulder. John

I bagged this tough old boar last week. The rifle is a Rem 700 in 308. A 150gn Nosler Accubond and a hefty charge of PowerPro 2000-MR did the deed.

My 10 yo son Elijah & me in Texas this past January. The two on the right are his; 182 & 168. The one on the left was mine which weighed 191. We had a great time. That same evening I shot this one in the head as he was coming directly toward me: And recovered this from his ham when I butchered him: 90 gr GMX impacted hog skull at approx 3k, pierced that hog length-wise, and weighed 40.5 gr when I found it. Pretty good considering how tough that skull is! They're by far the best tasting bullet testing medium out there!

Damn, nice pigs guys! Would love to get one myself, but pretty hard to find around here. I know they are out there, they have been for years but just little pockets here and there. The few guys who manage to find them would sooner give up their best fishing spot or whitetail honey hole than tell you even in the most general terms where to find em. Someday hopefully I'll stumble into them.

outstanding porker!
You're a better man than I. I've killed some pretty good hoglets, but I never wanted to get that "up close and personal" to see whether I could give em' a hug. Too many fleas and ticks here.
Good stuff!!

Here is one a buddy of mine took yesterday evening after a storm dumped about an inch of rain in 30 minutes. He wasn't huge - about 175 lbs - but he was one that had been cut as a piglet. He'll eat very, very well!

Nah, No competition here, I do this for fun and enjoyment. I enjoy owning and using knives. I luv perforating and skinning porkers and I've come to shoot much more with a camera than with a rifle or pistol. and ya' never can tell when a pix of knives and "nards" may just come in handy.
