Anyone ever get a 6.5 saum or any remington short action ultra mag to feed from a bdl setup? I'm wanting to go this route but have heard many say that it won't work. Remington factory rifles feed from a bdl with wsm and saum.
If you have one, can you post the mag box, bottom metal, follow/spring and magazine well cutout in your action?
Thanks and any input is appreciated.

Unless you use the magazine box, designed for the SAUM & WSM cases, you will have feeding problems. The same is true for the RUM cases.

Anyone have any experience with a wyatts mag box, either the staggered or single stack box?

Forget the wyatts.. Go to an AICS type with a feed ramp notch.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

As in a detachable magazine box like a badger m5?
I really dislike DBM for hunting rifles. Trying to avoid it if at all possible.

have both a 7 Wissum and a 7 Shamu in BDL. Had a pard that had a 6.5 WSM for a while as well. All the factory BDL configs I've tried worked and fed fine. Had factory in both WSM and RSAUM and a wyatts center feed on the WSM which also fed fine, but only hold 2 down. Went to the AICS as mentioned above for the additional capacity.

I'm feeding 270 WSM from a non WSM mag box with no problem, just loading 2 in the mag at a time though...

Both my WSM and SAUM would not feed even with the window boxes. I switched to Wyatt's CF and they feed very smooth. Always surprised to see people bad mouth those boxes as they made a world of difference on mine.

But I Have Always Run The Mag-Box's With The Windows Cut Out.. Me too. Mag boxes can be flimsy. Once I had to squeeze mine to keep the cartridge more directly underneath the bolt for pick-up.
