Bought a fox pro e-caller and one of their fluttering bird decoys to mess with.
Wasn't expecting much this morning. Took my 9 year old son, who wasn't especially still. We drove the mule to within a couple hundred yards of where I wanted to make the first stand. Was wearing my noisy duck hunting coat and wasn't really worrying about my scent except that I decided we would start in a deer stand over a clover field and the wind would be mostly in our face
20 minutes in this guy showed up. He was coming to a snowshoe in distress and spotted the fluttering bird decoy and was coming in on a line when I let him have it at 60 yards with the .243.
Not bad for my first ever coyote hunt. I think this little caller will be fun

Funny, had that exact same experience today. First time out w my Fox Pro and my Primos decoy. Set it on adult cottontail and 20 minutes later this guy comes out and I nail him w my Tikka .308 at about 100-110 yards.

Nicely done - another picture of a good dog.
Save the deer in your area - blast as many as you can.

Tom

How did you protect your kid's ears? Typical Kalifornian.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Nice! Fun times for sure. Good job!! I went out today to do some LR shooting, and this dog came out.
