Sorry guys but the "Best" Guitar man of all times is Eric Clapton. From the Yardbirds to John Mayahl and the blues breakers to Cream to his later solo stuff,,, you name it. Lots of good bands mentioned with Skynard being high on the list but nobody, and I mean nobody, beats Clapton.
Have to agree with Clapton, but it's hard to compare him to southern rock, although I'm sure he could play it well.

The title just says "greatest band". Doesn't say anything about country, hippy music, southern rock, heavy metal,,,,,,, or blues guitar which just happens to be the best.
Nobody comes close in the metal category..dimebag and company took it to the next level. One of the more overlooked tragedies in the music world..
dimebag Darrel abbot was one of my cousin's best friends Bryant ended up with his guitars and amps after he was murdered

Sure would like to know how Skynyrd would have turned out if it hadn't been for the plane crash. They were on top of their game and still stay up near the top in my book.
October 20, 1977, Greenville, SC. I was at that concert, which was the same night they boarded that private flight for LSU. Critics said it was their best concert to date. I also saw them 3 years earlier in Greenville at Furman University. They loved playing in Greenville because Greenville loved them.

I saw Clapton with my family, son in law and his parents about 6 years ago. Son in law's dad died the next year, so I'm glad we went. It was a great trip and an awesome concert.
Most likely some obscure regional band that no one but the individual voting for them has ever heard of or else some loud noise-production outfit with songs either containing words that can't be heard above the din or else with words that don't mean anything at all.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

Not only a less than minimally educated person, but stupid and out of touch as well.
