Been seeing the commercials for these where it states 876 or so locations nationwide. That's a lot. Haven't been to one or even seen one out west here at all, tho.

How good are these sammiches compared to Subway, Blimpies, Jimmy John's, Port-of-Subs, Quiznos..........or any other national chain sammich shop for that matter?

The brisket sandwich is pretty good. Havent had one in about a year or so, but pretty tasty for a quick brisket sandwich. Thats the only thing I have had there.

They are delicious!

They are hot subs except tuna and chicken salad.

they are all good except the chicken salad is bland.

The meatball and ham and cheese are exceptional.

My wife and I had been there once. We felt there are a lot of other choices in town that we prefer. But each has their own preference.

There's one I can get to but it's 20 miles away. I think I ate at one in Vegas but it doesn't stand out to me.

I haven't been to one either, but I believe there is one in St. George. Tried Port-O-Subs once. That was enough.

Being diabetic and having to watch my weight, subs aren't a regular item on my menu.

Having spent some time in the East, and also New Orleans, in my earlier years, I have to say that today's subs, especially the chains, don't hold a candle. The bread seems like ordinary supermarket bread formed into a small loaf. The ingredient amounts seem to be allocated per the instructions of corporate bean counters, and charging for "extra" meat just means the sandwich was chinzty from the start.

It's not like it used to be, but then what is?

We've had them for more than 5 years. Just another sandwich shop. I find their sandwiches to be saltier and have more cured meats that other places.

They would come in dead last behind the other sub shops I've tried including Subway, Quiznos, Lenny's, Jersey Mike's etc.

You couldn't pay me to eat at Subway. Garbage!

I like Firehouse. They make an honestly good sub for about 6 bucks. And all of their produce is bought local when possible. Started by 2 brothers who were actually firefighters.

BTW they sell their empty pickle buckets for a buck. Great for fishing or cooling down beer.

Don't have one close that I"m aware of.

Though it would be HARD to finish BEHIND Subway IMHO.

A bit off the main topic, but a sleeper in chain sandwiches, IMO, is Arby's Reuben. Even without paying for "extra", it has a generous amount of meat, and the other ingredients that define a Reuben. Not overpriced either.

The #3 combo (new your steamer) is great. Its about par with quiznos and jimmy johns before jimmy johns got all cheap like subway and stopped putting enuff meat on their sandwiches. A stale peice of light bread run through the crack of a azz is better than subway.

They are worlds better than Subway, IMO. I don't go often but can say the Italian sub, fully involved, is good stuff.
