Thinking back to occupied regions in the last century, the occupied have fought back with rifle, pistol, pitchfork, sabotage, ect.
What would be ideal in an occupied USA or state/ region?
My thoughts are benign is better that obviously militaristic.
A 22lr single shot used properly is better than an AK improperly imployed.

Every farmer's deer rifle. I used to laugh when I was a platoon leader how stupid it was not to have a few scoped mid caliber rifles in every platoon. Iron sights are great and all in the whole, but when you can specifically target somebody's head, foot, hand, or butt-cheek at 200 plus yards with a scoped .30-06 (even when they are behind partial cover and/or concealment), you can cause real damage.

22 is top of the list... sub sonic if nothing else, some aguila super colibri, a pellet gun... and then standard ammo. Works for a LOT of things. Most of the deer you've shot if not all that you have posted about would be just as dead with a 22. Subsonic even.
I prefer to make sure I have a can around too..
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

No thanks on the .22lr. Sure a suppressed .22 could be useful, but it would suck if you ever found yourself in a fight. And if you're taking up arms, you'd be an idiot to assume you'll always be able to avoid the fight.
I were going out to buy a SHTF rifle today, the whole kit and kaboodle, I'd be buying an AR (probably the Bushmaster) in .300 blackout. With 125 grain bullets, it's the ballistic equivalent of a 7.62x39, and with 180 grain bullets it's an effective suppressed cartridge. You'd have to make your own ammo, but 1,000 rounds could be made up pretty quick and wouldn't completely break the bank.
Top it with a high quality 1-5x variable scope with illuminated reticle, and BUIS. And feed it with big stack of Lancer Advanced Warfighter magazines.
I think a suppressed weapon would be the most useful thing an insurgent could have.

Best refer to what Michael Collins armed his flying squad with. Webley revolvers. A 22 pistol for just taking someone out with minimum fuss is just dandy. Recall that th Mujahaddeebn were armed with SMLE's and mauser 98's when the Russians first invaded. EVERYBODY had a good laugh as to the "futility" of that. We all know how THAT turned out.
