In about a week my wife and I are taking our travel trailer and heading west to the Idaho Oregon boarder.. I would like to catch a steelhead.. I am thinking of taking a guided trip.. What river would you try for a decent trip.. Just one thing I want to take off my bucket list.. We could even drive to central Ore. or the Washington/Oregon boarder.. Fished Riggins for salmon last summer.. May try there, but also thought a different area might be more fun for the wife.. She hasn't traveled much in that area.. Any suggestions??

If you could drive to Central Oregon, the Deschutes is primo! Member "1Minute" has shared numerous stories of his float trips and successes on that body of water. Good luck.

(Sorry bout the rifle,,,, that's the only pic I could find.)

Ironically I have one of the best holes on the Clearwater right in my front yard but have no interest in Steelhead fishing.
As stated above, the Clearwater really is one of the premiere Steelhead fisheries.
If you're self contained there's a sweet little campground right on the river about three miles upriver or there's others with hook up's scattered along the river. I can put you in contact with some good guides or chase down any other info you need for the surrounding area. PM me for my phone# if I can help.
