Phase two will be starting soon. going to build the deck and I'm really wanting to weld an aluminum frame. anyone tried this? I'm afraid the welder I have won't work, but I'm gonna sure try. if nothing else then I'm going with wood as a second option.

As has been mentioned,i would also reccomend you reconsider the built in livewell. The space might be better served for storage, batteries etc. Also be sure of enough front deck for a trolling motor and who knows maybe even a spider rig setup.

Looks like a cool project. Neighbor just finished up one similar, but a touch bigger, and it came out great. He filled a bunch of pin holes, re-cored the transom, and built a cool little center console with a leaning post. New floor and paint.
I'm keeping an eye out for a little 13 Whaler. I'd like to find a beater with no power and fix it up. Hang a nice 4stroke 30 or 40hp on it.
