While Nash and I were out and about a couple days ago looking for sheds, Nash walked out a ridge and this coyote jumped up.. Nash skinned his .22 smokewagon and took aim at the running coyote, which was about 80-100 yards away, and shot at it. He hit it in the neck, and down it went. It needed a finishing shot, but still, to drop a coyote at 100 yards with a .22 revolver is no small feat. IMG_0137 by mtcurmanElmer would have been proud... This is too good and TFF!!!

Did a little cast and blast today. Those old Mitchell 308 reels are dandies...they're my favorite ultralight. In fact I just got home last night from Reelfoot Lake in TN. and used two 308s there.

Don't you know those old Mitchell's are like old bullets, they will never catch fish.

Went up to Clyde Park, MT to the fiancés grandparents for Easter and got out on Saturday to do some gopher shooting. Planned to do two days of shooting but Sundays weather had them pretty scarce. Ended up going through about 700 rounds on Saturday. We took our daughter out for her first gopher shoot. Couple more years and she will be dusting the little bastids too. Then she got in on feeding some bum calves

Just got back to catching up on this thread..
ingwe, sounds like your burning those gophers up.. enjoy..
Rosco1, Our gophers are really down here.. I shot maybe 35 today.. This is the second year in a row, that the numbers have been horrible.. Don't know if they caught a plague, three years ago, there were lots even as they started to go down for the year.. Then disaster...
curman, nice catch of beavers.. Some of those look like little bears!! Elmer would have been proud of that shot.. best of luck...

We just got back from our first prairie dog shoot, it won't be the last. Here are a few pics. Due to high winds and dust on the full day we had planned, we only shot one afternoon and one morning but those 1/2 days were great. We are celebrating a 450+yrd shot my son just made.... I don't know what you guys usually shoot in a day, we hit 150 but that really didn't matter, we had a great time making memories!
