Shooting crows with a rifle is a real blast.. Love it.. We are shooting gophers near Dillon, Mt. Should have brought more ammo.. I am down to about 25 .223's.. and some Rem. 22 LRHPTS>

When it gets warm enough for flies and bees, I put a bit of honey on my 100 yard targets to attract live critters......Then I put the 17HMR to work.....get a few!......

Even though one of my poodleshooters is (CRF). A Mauser based rifle in 220 Swift. I hear nothing but good reports about the accuracy of those push feed Winchesters. Sounds like your rifles bears that up! A kill on a crow, not much meat there to hit, with any rifle is a feat worthy of comment. Good shooting there.

When ever I make their heads go ballistic and the wings fly off at right angles, I am having a good day.
22.250 with a 40 VMax is the most reliable for this scenario that I have found.

Once, my late brother watched a couple of crows working a field for bugs. Their paths kept criss-crossing back and forth until finally they lined up just right and wham. Two for one. 7mm Rem Mag.
Cross are noticeably less common these days than they were years ago. I suspect that West Nile virus thinned them out. Their habit of roosting together makes them vulnerable. Now days, ravens are just about as common in this area.

I just shot one by my bird feeder 100 yds from the kitchen window. They are more relaxed at that distance. I was doing dishes at the time. Do I get bonus points? 40 grVMAX takes no prisoners. How can I post a picture with my phone?

A few years back, I had a 700 varmint chambered for 6mm. I had a load put together for it that pushed 65 grain Vmaxes fast enough to make beak, claw and feathers go in several different directions....
Never failed to make me giggle when I gave one the works with that setup.

I am a wing shooter and LOVE shootin gangsters as we call them, called into shotgun range with a ecaller. But,,, this rifle buisness sounds like a he!! of a good time. I want a .223 bolt gun of some sort, but I'm so broke it ain't even funny.
