This just broke on Face Book ... the new Noveske Bolt Action Rifle. No details yet, but you can bet it is super accurate, tough and superb quality.

Obviously, it's built to interest the tactical guys. Hopefully, they find the market for hunting rifles is HUGE and they make a sporting version.

I tried to Google ... no info. BUT, the photo tells us a bit.

Blessings

Steve

Yeah it needs to have checkering on the grip instead of stippling. Not suitable for sporting purposes and should be limited to LE/MIL.

I can't imagine them taking a Tikka and stamping their name on it.

Bolt actions are more dangerous than Remington 700s . . . . . . whistle

Dogzapper is the one who first brought up the tactical(mil/LE) versus hunting(sport) angle. Why not ask him?

That's what I thought. They'll need to do some work to get them as accurate as most Tikka's.

You're tolerant, Bart.

The only thing I'd like to read regarding that POS loser is an obit.

Anyone that says that a rifle isn't suitable for killing critters(2 or 4 legged)needs to splain himself. If not then he'll be bird-dogged til he hauls ass(again?)... It worked once... It'll work again...

Why would they need to make a sporting version if that one could be used for hunting?

Also, LE/MIL like having stuff LE/MIL only to enhance their esprit de corp/self esteem, while occasionally letting firemen and EMT's in on the specialty items as well.

Please bear in mind that all my life I was an active, walking hunter. Heavy barrels, oversized stocks and such are things I've learned to avoid.

In the photo, the barrel looks not overly heavy, but it's surely larger than the three-contour I used on my .280 Ackley. The stock looks bulky, but I surely have absolutely NO PROBLEM with stippling.

Harris bipod? Heck yes, I'm willing to spend that ten ounces, any time.

The Picininny grin rail? Again Yes, it makes scope mounting way more versatile.

The bolt release is really unique, so that might help someone identify the action.

The action shape and treatment reminds me of Defiance, but the bolt shroud is different and Defiance uses the captive recoil lug, like Stiller and Nesika. Maybe a Sturgeon with flats like the Defiance????

Eventually, we'll know, but you can sure as hell bet it isn't a Tikka ... and I LOVE Tikka.

Steve

Don't crawfish on your position just because of Bart questioning it vicariously through me DZ. Stay true to your initial feeling.

Noveske donated rifle serial number 1 to the NRA/ILA and it auctioned for $7,000.

That was a great contribution from the girlz and boys at Noveske.
