One more gun I won't inherit. Dang it. I'm a righty and Father is a lefty.
We are in need of one of the above in LH Bolt-Action. His side-by-side, scoped Heym wasn't cooperating for an upcoming lion hunt. We are in the market for a lion/cape gun. Above calibers only, please.
I am looking around online but perhaps there is something you've seen recently. Thanks in advance.
No CZs, please.

I have a LH Win 70 CRF in 458 Lott and a LH Rem 700 in 416 Rem. Have thought of selling them. Let me know if you have interest and I will send details and pics. Both really great shape.

Panther, he already has a 375 H&H. Thanks for the recommendation. His 375 is from the early 1980s Remington Custom Shop, you know, the place you lefties had to get just about anything decent in the old days. There is a reason he has so many Weatherby rifles, they were the only ones who made LH bolt guns!
Back to business. Kudu, I will send you a PM. I'd like some pics of the Win 70, please. The Kimber Caprivi is intriguing but we have yet to find one in LH in 458 Lott.
He is going to follow-up with Heym to see what the double was regulated for. It's interesting how that works. My Merkel 470 NE is regulated for Federals. They tell you this and sure enough, it shoots them very well.
Let me know if you all stumble upon anything else, please. Thanks!

MRC has their v2 in both 458 Lott and 416. I was just saying I really liked mine. Very reasonable price too. They will do anything you want as far as customization. http://montanarifleco.com/?page_id=182

Still looking. Leaning towards a 416 Rigby after speaking with our family friend who runs a safari shooting school.

I owned two different MRC's in .458 Lott and both performed well. But what is the issue with the Heym that takes it out of the ball game? I live in Colorado and also own a left handed Heym if you need assistance developing ammo to match the regulating ammo.
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Snowwolfe, we had a custom load developer working on loads. The bullet we were loading is the North Fork 300 grain PP (nicknamed the "Pussy Pounder"). These are considered THE lion bullet.
We went to the range on Saturday and got the left and right acceptable but the vertical was a huge issue. We had 8" difference at 100 yards with our best load. We feel as though the speed is too much. We were reading 2700 fps and the hottest load recommended by the manual shows 2500 max speed.
Ironically, it shoots Federal blue box ammo well. Unfortunately, these bullets are unacceptable for lion. Our PH friends do not have faith in these bullets.
I ordered some North Fork PPs yesterday and should have them in 3 days. My father is in KS but I appreciate your offer on helping in CO. Again, as Broomd said yesterday, there are some wonderful people on this forum.
If you have some ideas, feel free to PM me and we might be able to conjure something up.
Thanks!

Gotta love The Fire! A member messaged me with a safe queen Dakota 76 he had in 416 Rigby. He offered me a fair price and we are golden. Thanks to everyone for your help here.
The cool thing is that I have a RH Dakota 76 in 416 Rigby. Superior Ammunition developed my loads for me and with a little luck, we hope they shoot well out of my father's new gun. It would be nice to share ammo.
I think we are going to scrap the Heym making this trip. Thanks for your offer, Snowwolfe. Again, just proof of the great community we have here. As sportsmen, we take care of each other.
