OP Joshm28 Campfire Member J Joined: Mar 2015 Posts: 138	I won't give any details but I hit the lottery on customs this week. About 3 weeks ago I picked up a Cooper in 6mm with Swarovski glass... Well today I picked up the following 338wm built by mountain rifles inc 300 ultra built by RL Mathews (Mathews Guns LTD) 22-250 built by Mathews 7 mag built by carolina precision All 4 are topped with swarovski glass. 3-12x50s on everything but the 22-250 and it has a 6-18x50. Anyone want to guess what I'm doing in the morning, lol Last edited by Joshm28; 04/27/15.

Plus the mags all have custom brakes. The 7mag will be getting a custom thread protector. In my opinion it doesn't need a brake due to recoil. Besides, these are all cream puffs compared to my mossberg 835 with 2oz 3.5" loads.

Range update The 300 ultra shot a .5" group at a 100 The 22-250 shot .5" groups at 200 with cheap winchester 55 grains The 7 mag shot a 1" group with 150 grain fusions So. Need to work up some loads and we will have some shooters. On a side not the brake on the 7 mag is definitely coming off. You could taste the powder after the shot. The 300 ultra was a little better but not ideal. It will definitely require earpro in a hunting setting.

I did not take a pic of that particular group but I did take a picture of the 300RUM 3 shot group at a 100. This is a group that my 6.5-284 shoots regularly.

I have been on a M70 binge 10 in the last 6mos but my smith has an action and stock blank for either another 7X57, 6.5X55 or 25/06. I just can't decide. You have an understanding wife....mine knows nothing, nothing but I need to try and explain the need for another safe.

I've found that you can get good deals on other peoples' customs vs building myself but I still like to waste my money on that elusive "perfect rifle" I know is out there someplace !
