Question to you all. Has anyone ever turned the Marlin 30 carbine into a 5.7 Johnson / 22 spitfire?? This is just a 30 carbine case necked down to 22 cal. They turned a lot of the M1s into them.
this case would have less pressure than the 256 win and spits a 40 gr out in the 3200 fps range
. This would make a neat levermatic, But has anyone done it before?/

$50 for a box of .256 used to sound expensive. I was just looking in Midway. 218 Bee $64 25-20 $49.50 38-40 $60 ect. I got my Model 62 from a guy who's Dad recently passed away. It was the only gun they had ever owned. When he was a kid they saw a coyote in the back yard a couple times, so Dad went to town for a coyote gun. It came with a Marlin scope, a nice gun case, and the box of shells he bought it with, about 3/4 full. I think the reason they were'nt popular is that they carry lousey. Balance point is right on the square magazine.
