Any favorite loads for the AI? There's a boatload of information on the 375, but the AI not so much. Mostly interested in Nosler 260's and various 300 grain bullets. Thanks
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Just use .375 Wby data. Or start with .375 H&H max loads and work up.

Look in Any Shot You Want by Alphin; .375 JRS pretty much AI. Weatherby data at your own risk as it assumes long freebore.

Why in the world would anyone AI a .375? Because PLUS: Why would anyone want a 378 Weatherby? Just exactly why would you ask such a question? Thanks for the other responses!

Bugger, I worked up to 92 gr of Rl-17 in MY rifle with a 270 gr TSX, speeds are 3000 fps, this is the load I settled on in my 375 AI, barrel is 24", I took it up to 95 gr for a bit over 3100 fps, case-head expansion remained in spec. The 92 grain charge will shoot under an inch for three in calm winds, haven't hit anything BIG with it yet but should be very predictable out to 400 long yards.

Thanks Gunner. That sounds like a flat shooting round. That was RE-17, right? I'm not familiar with RI.

Sitka Deer says the AI gives a 375 much more case life. PM him.

Agreed on life and trim too Talus, after fireforming, I trimmed all cases to the same length and fire em all before reloading the next batch, they dont seem to grow any, win/win.

PTG and Clymer reamers are a .250" freebore. The Dave Manson reamer is a .375" freebore. Really? Looking at PT&G's book of chamber prints for the .375 Weatherby, the parallel portion of the freebore is 0.735" long. If we consider the parallel portion and the gentle 1*-19-0 entry into the rifling it is 0.996" long. Looking at PT&G's chamber print for the .375 Ackley Mag. Improved it shows 0.200" long. Please note: I did not say the .375 Weatherby was "based" on a long freebore, I stated the data in Alphin's book Any Shot You Want would have been collected from a test barrel using a .375 Weatherby reamer, thus "assuming" a long freebore/parallel throat (whatever you want to call it).

If a .375-.416 Rem Mag is the same as a .375 AI then I have a few loads. This rifle has a 28" barrel. All use Federal 215 Magnum primers. These loads regularly make groups under 1 1/2 inch at 100; often way under. The Barnes TTSX 250's go under 3/4" all the time. All these are accuracy/hunting loads. Of course they are the highest velocity accuracy loads I could get.
Sierra 300 - IMR4350 @ 87.0- 2,700 feet per second Sierra 300 - RL22 @ 98.0 - 2,918 fps GSCustom 265HV - IMR4320 - 83.0 - 3,055 fps GSCustom 265HV - IMR4064 - 83.0 - 3,034 fps Barnes TSX 270 - IMR4320 @ 84.0 - 2,987 fps Barnes TSX 270 - H4350 @ 89.0 - 2,875 fps Nosler 260 - H4350 - 89.5 - 2,976 fps Nosler 260 - Varget - 82.0 - 2,983 fps Barnes 250 - IMR4320 - 84.0 - 3,098 fps These are smokin' hot for accuracy!
