Just picked up a barrel for my 12 ga. Breda auto shotgun that has an attached choke tube screwed to the outside of the barrel, it is marked "QUICKCHOKE" inside an oval, and, in another place, "M/M 1".
Anyone know who made these and when, and whether anything will interchange with them?
I am not familiar with it, but did a google search for quickchoke and found a description of the gun from Breda(in Italian, of course) which apparently came from the factory with those tubes.

I clicked the Breda site and nothing came up. I don't know if they are still in business or not. There was also an email address for the distributor, but he is probably an Italian distributor. However it can't hurt to email him and see what happens.

You might try them on your computer. The Breda site was listed as www.breda.armi.it

and the distributor's email was Roberto.massarotti@otomelaria.it Hope this helps. Does the gun have an American importers name on it, perhaps?
A terrific tip which I will follow up, many thanks. You are a better net-worker than I am, I tried google a while back and got zilch. My wife is Roman so I will have a translator. The gun was obtained in Rome forty years ago as a wedding present - my father in law took me into a gunshop and said to pick something out !! I did not have the nerve to select an 8x57R double rifle in the rack, which he could well have afforded, but there were several autos and this one had the prettiest wood. Since then I have been keeping my eye out for extra barrels at the shows and in the ads and now have two. Had no idea that the choke tube might be original Breda.
