I think if a horde of zombies was throwing their weight around a Garand would be mighty comforting. grin

It still remains a capable impact weapon, very important in the zombie apocalypse.

Of course in the Walking dead scenario I would be carrying a 10/22 and a Browning Buckmark. I don't think the Taylor Knock Out Factor applies.

Only head shots count but I gotta believe that some Nosler Ballistic Tips gotta do some damage.

Get the adjustable gas plug in case you run across some 180s.

Structural hits count.

Take out the femurs or ball joints and they won't be moving very fast.

In a "COD Black Ops" Zombie scenario, it's about big magazines and a high rate of fire, so for that I"d stick with an AR, with a real high speed trigger.

Just the latest spray and pray fad.

I'll stick with the 03A3 until I forget how to shoot.

I like it!

Garand for me, 10/22 never could launch a turtle 60 ft in the air. I want to see zombie body parts fly.

If you could load them with some 180gr Ballistic Tips you could make the parts fly, but still have the penetration for when you could line them of 4 or 5 deep.

A 30-06 with a 24 " tube is effective farther out than a mouse gun.

I took my Garand antelope hunting and I was done after the first day. I will stick with the 10/22 for zombies. My 03A3 is very accurate, I will save that for homeland defense.

I have always loved the tanker garand despite how practical or impractical it might be. Scanning the website and seeing a Garand in .35 Whelen made my heart skip a beat.

Read a story once about a guy in Alaska that carried a Garand converted to 35 Whelen.
He called it his "Bear Spray"..... smile cool

Hmmm,

Has anyone taken the new 16" bbl M-14 and blown it out to .35 caliber?
