What are you guys using for a cleaning rod? There is a lot of info out there that is for and against each type. I am torn between solid brass, coated, stainless steel, and carbon fiber. Each seem to have negatives, I don't want to do any damage to my bore.

Tipton. You can't go wrong with Dewey either, I just prefer the bigger handle of the Tipton Rods.

Tipton or Dewey stainless. as long as you use a good set of jags and a good action type bore guide you will be fine. Bob

1. Dewey/Bore-tech 2. Tipton not a bad rod until the brass foreend comes off it. 3. There are other uber expensive cleaning rods that the BR guys use

This is my preference as well.
As was previously stated, get a good set of jags; I prefer the Parker Hale style from Dewey and I'll add, get a bore guide. I prefer the Lucas bore guides, but others will work.

Im a Dewey rod man myself. I did end up with a Tipton but the end busted off. Probably my fault. I use a tipton brush and jig set.

I ordered a Dewey 22 caliber coated rod and a couple of extra adapters. Should have been here already but I suppose the Holiday is the hold up. I still haven,t made up my mind to get the Possum Hollow or one of the universal Bore guides.
