Do you get better accuracy and/or prefer one or the other in .224? 6mm? Thanks.

I can not comment on .244 or 6mm but switching between the 2 in my 7mm08 I have not seen any difference in accuracy.

Both are likely to be accurate.......For a .224" I usually make an exception and use either for deer/antelope but in anything 6mm and bigger a ballistic tip gets the call for said victims..........

Accuracy should be no different, but I like to use the TTSX bullets for their higher BC and lower expansion velocities.

One of my 7rem mags only loves 140 tsx. The gun will not group with any other bullet . No matter with differant weights ,cases primmers. Brands etc. I was all excited to try the ttsx 140. What a mess , back to 140tsx gun shoots in the 2's. I switched to ttsx's in alot of other guns and they shoot just as good! Go figure!

By "2's", you mean 2 inches, right? Or are you measuring one shot groups? How about posting some pixs.

Stillbeeman! No sir I mean. .232 to be exact. 5 shots 100yards don't know how to do pics. I have 3 of these 5shot groups hanging on my shop wall . The gun won't shoot under an inch with anything else . More like 1 1/2" And I mean ANYTHING ELSE

I believe you as I have had a couple of guns that only shoot the TSX. Not to say it will not shoot the others but the TSX is far more accurate. Don't worry about it I have killed hundreds of animals with regular TSX and never had a failure. I know other people have but I have not.

Just for reference, not saying you are wrong, but I havent ever seen a 7 mag go 5 into a .2 pic is of a 5 shot .25 group. IBS target .25 in between the lines

I've only used them in in three cartridges: .257 Roberts, .270 and .308, but I've found better accuracy in my rifles with the plain TSX rather than the tipped bullet.

Sure, but then again, Just this weekend I shot a .2 5 shot group at 1000 yrds with a 50 BMG. No pics,no proof, probably a world record. But by golly I can come on here and say I did it. Then get someone to come on here and say he didnt see it, but it must be true so it is.

Sure. It depends whom you're dealing with. With Bella I know. And I do believe him. The best 3 shot group I ever got was with a 25-06 Savage Tactical factory gun. Group was 0.05" 100 grain 257 ballistic tip with RL22 powder. I did not have a witness but I know I did it. If you need pictures of that then I guess you're SOL because I do not have any. That does not mean that I did not do it. On the other hand here is a 5 shot 220 swift group that I did manage to get in a picture. Again factory rifle. 40 gr BT with varget.

Fotis, Nice group, the Swift is known for that, Got one and it is a dandy. Heres my take ] One of my 7 rem mags only loves 140 tsx. The gun will not group with any other bullet . This is making it sound like the TSX is a magic bullet. IT IS NOT. No way is it going to take a rifle that wont group anything to a .2 rifle for 5 shots. A 1 1/2 rifle to a 1" maybe. 1" to 3/4" maybe. 1 1/2" , or not grouping any other bullet/combo rifle to .2 ??? That is pushing it. If you wanna shoot 80 cent bullets to do a 20 cent bullet job then fine, but dont say the 80 cent bullet will turn a non grouping rifle into a .2 shooter without something to back it up. Otherwise its BS. 110 AB out of a 25.06 load testing, Rem 700 BDL Same rifle shooting a proven 3/4" load in another rifle. Its a IBS 200 yrd target shot at 100 yrds, hunting rifle ya know, honest 1/2" groups. Factory Rifle which is alot better than expected.

Oh I know what you mean. I have also seen what you say but I have seen the opposite.
Get this. One of my buddies and range freaks built a 280 on a 700 action. Everything top of the line on it including a match tube.
The only thing it shot into small little bugholes was one brand of 160 gr bullet with a max load of IMR 4831.
No matter what we tried no dice.
I named that rifle the cancerous one! hated it.

The 7 mm mag is a lefthand Sako with a Krieger 26" barrel I pride myself in making any rifle shoot .500 groups Factory or custom . I accurize around 30 rifles a year. Re-stock ,bed, pillar, re-crown,rebarrel and hand load . This one is my most difficult project. Ever. Sorry idont do pics. The fire is to help our buddies when a question arrives . Sorry to put dought in some minds. If I posted pics of the 3-5 shot groups ,I'd bet someone will sayTHAT'S NOT 5Shots!!! Oh well! If this is BS then This is a sin! 5 shot 30 BR -117 Fowler bullet. .0031. @ 100. Here we go again!
