Guys:

I did a quick search on the 'fire site and came up with nothing. Has anyone used VV N540 in anything? What are your observations? It's supposed to give a little more zip in most cartridges using mid-weight for caliber bullets.

Thanks

RM

I have. I’m just wondering what folks’ actual experience might be.

IIRC, Rost495 said they used it for .223 competition loads, that's a pretty good recommendation. Post from a couple of years ago.

You didn't look very hard as there have been several threads here as well as in the AR topic forum about VV 540.

It's my favorite powder for 69 & 77 gr bullets in 223's & 5.56 rounds in both bolt guns & AR's.

And it fairly available & though the VV powders have never been cheap, they are less than many of the Alliant & Hodgdon powders right now.
