A friend wants me to ID this Shotgun. It has no markings what so ever. I have taken it apart and can't find any proof marks or anything. The loop in the trigger guard is for breaking it open. I can't find anything online or in any of my books. Looks to be a 12 gauge.

I was wrong on the manufacturer. It might be a C.S. Shattuck because of the hammer spur. Iver Johnson didn't make any with a hammer like that. I did manage to clean it up some and found a serial# and the word Leader stamped on top of the barrel. No other markings what so ever. Still a guessing game.

Amax is right; it's a Shattuck.

It had a tight lock up when I first got it, but now it is very loose. I guess the rust and gunk was all that was really holding it together. Don't matter, the owner is just gonna hang it on the wall of his cabin that is just a little bit older.
