Just picked up a Winchester Super X1 for $340 field grade mint condition. The Serial number is M161** anyone know what year it was manufactured?
Thanks

Don't know what year but congrats, IMO that seems like a hell of a deal.

Just replace the original bolt buffer and "O" ring and you should be ready to rock and roll for a long, long time. Those are very well made shotguns, the Cadillac of Winchester semi-auto's. No serial number list on the WIN SX-M1 that I am aware of but yours is probably from the late 1970's. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=264517http://www.wrightsgunsmiths.com/parts.htm

Your serial number is likely a 1st or 2nd year production Super X model 1.
