Well its time to buy new glass for a new rifle im expecting next Tuesday. Its a Kimber Montana chambered in 25-06. I usually run VX-3's on all my rifles but recently bought a a Trijicon Accupoint for another rifle and think it's by far the best scope I've ever used. I also looked into the Leupold vx-6 scopes but haven't heard too much about them yet. Are they worth the extra dough? I plan on doing quite a bit of customizing and accuracy work to the 25-06 so i figure i should have a real good scope at keast on this rifle.
The three Scopes im chosing from:
Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40 duplex illuminated green dot-$675 Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40-$530 Leupold VX-6 2.5-12x42-$900.
Opinions? Im leaning towards the Trijicon since i already have one and REALLY like it and the price is in-between the two Leupys. Its still a little more than im used to spending for glass but they're dam nice scopes.

You must not sleep worth a crap either Guess my only input is I wouldn't be putting a 30mm scope on a ultra light weight rifle, especially if you're spending a hundred or so extra on a bolt handle/trigger guard to shave a few ounces. Thinking I'll be putting a VX-3 3.5-10 with a CDS dial and alumina mounts on my Montana .280ai when it arrives. Good Luck

Leupold vx 3 or the Trijicon accupoint. 30MM scope although the Leupy is not that heavy is way out of place on a lightweight rifle IMHO

I sold my Trijicon green dot last year. Realized I made a mistake and recently bought another. The glass and illuminated dot is simply awesome.

I would be leaning towards a vx3 2.5-6 or straight 6 power on the lightweight rifle.
But vx 3.5-10 from your choices

You must not sleep worth a crap either Nope, even after a 12 hour day at work. I have a 2 month old son though too so we get up quite a bit. Sucks but he's worth it, i love being a daddy! Anyway, i like the quality & clarity of the Trijicon along with battery free illumination, but i also really like that Leupold has the CDS dial and is 10x. Its hard to decide!

Once you decide, post back with your findings. I am in the same situation and am leaning towards the Trijicon.
Thanks

Another vote for the Leupold VX 3.5-10 or VX 3x9 CDS.
Good Shooting!

Trijicon. Great glass and worth the extra Benjamin over the vx-3.
