i have a 2-7x28 compact leupold that i can't get to focus past 20 yards or so. at 40 the bullseye is a blur. the focus ring is cranked all the way down. not just my eyes either, my wife and kids say the same. its an older vintage in really nice shape. has anyone sent an older scope back to leupold for repair? will they fix it or just send me a new one? i sent a nikon back for repair and they sent me a really nice, but huge scope that i had no use for. any experience with older scope repairs from them?

Give leupold a call I'm sure they will help you out ..

First, I'd try getting the reticle sharp. Then I'd try focusing the image at 100 yds. If that doesn't work, send it in.
Leupold is very good about repairing scopes. Call their 800 number, 1-800-Leupold or 503-526-1400 and ask for instuctions for returning it. E

Just to see if there is a problem with the scope and without getting too involved for now,while looking through the scope at a light colored wall or clear sky or such,adjust the eye piece until the reticle and only the reticle is in focus. Once it's in focus snug up the lock ring and sight in on an image at a distance. What ya got?
