-have a leupold 10+17 bino assume the front threaded part is 1/4"x20?
-looking for a tripod adapter I can leave on the binos but not be in the way too much when hand held

Try the Zen Ray tripod adapter. Thin enough to work with roofs as well as porros....all metal and $10.
