There are a couple of new players in the <$250 spotting scopes. First is the Redfield Rampage 20X60-60 and Second the Vortex Nomad 20X60-60. A casual look thru each was suprising. They looked pretty darn nice and for the price tag - wow. Wondering if anyone has one of these (or other) and what it is performing like in the field.

keep in mind its tuff to know what you are getting looking in the store I would also want to check and see how it performs compared to other scopes. I thought the leupold ventana was a pretty good scope but grabbed a vortex viper and the ventana didn't look near as good. for some reason nearly every company wants to make the eye relief so freaking tight on spotting scopes. this redfield looks like its going to be short on eye relief too. even if you don't wear glasses a tad extra eye relief just means its more comfortable to use. so my point is compare the thing to other scopes and know what you are getting.
