I've noticed that the Weaver V9 Classic appears to be discontinued. Not showing up at most stores, and not on the website. Any idea why Weaver did this?? It was always a good, solid scope for around $150.

My guess is that it was just a victim of the “streamlining” of the production line that so many of the optics companies have done in recent years. They kept the similar V10 so I guess they just chose to keep the one with a bit more magnification on the top end and a little less on the bottom end.

The market is flooded with 3-9X scopes, so maybe Weaver wasn't selling enough to justify the effort.
I've got a 4X, two KT15s, and a V16. I think they're all very good glass for the money.

The V9 was a decent scope and had a good rep. I like the 3-4 that I have.
