I received the following in an email. McMillan has posted a short article on the public access part of it's Facebook page (you don't need a Facebook id to view it).

I have no relationship with BofA, but those that do should take action.

Subject: Fw: Bank of America tells gun manufactures to close their accounts and take their banking elsewhere!

Below is the text that McMillan Firearms Manufacturing posted on their facebook page. If you have facebook, you can see the post here: https://www.facebook.com/McMillanGroupInternational

Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an account analysis meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them.

He spent 5 minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last 5 years and have become more of a firearms manufacture than a supplier of accessories. At this point I interrupted him and asked "Can I possibly save you some time so that you don't waste your breath?" What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer want my business.

"That is correct." he says.

I replied "That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a 2nd Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won't mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?"

"You have to do what you must." he said.

"So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?"

Mr. Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing left for him to say.

I think it is important for all Americans who believe in and support our 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms should know when a business does not support these rights. What you do with that knowledge is up to you. When I don't agree with a business' political position I cannot in good conscience support them. We will soon no longer be accepting Bank of America credit cards as payment for our products.

The fact that McMillan banked with them up to this point draws questions in and of themselves.

Regardless, BOA probably did McMillan a favor since we are going to run on BOA this December anyway.

BOA is not the only finacial institution that is putting the screw to those business involved with firearms. Many dealers are associated with buying groups (Sports, Inc. come to mind). SI negotiated credit card processing fees for member dealers and all was fine up until the early part of the year. SI informed its dealers that they would need to negotiate their own CC processing fees with the financial institution of their choice.

That said, I provide some network support for one of the local dealers that was affected and was present when several CC processing service reps came to try and sell their services. In each case, the CC processor had no issue with FTF, or over-the-counter sales of firearms and payment with a CC. The hitch came with internet sales. To make a long story short the CC processing companies do not understand how a firearm sale is conducted over the internet and that the 'final' sale is FTF via another dealer (FFL holder) who performs the actual and physical transfer. As such, they - the CC processing firms - are trying to become another 'enforcement agency' by not taking on or retaining firearms dealers that use the internet to supplement their over the counter sales.

Interestingly enough, one of the CC processing reps that came in to sell services was the nephew of the business owner that I help out. During the meeting the owner (and FFL holder) was there and his nephew was explaining this and that and wanted to know our process for selling and processing a firearm transfer via the internet. When it came time to explain, the owner told his nephew it was none of his ******* business; that the BATF was the enforcement agency, and to get his ******* *** off the premise and not come back. Since that time other CC processing service reps have been told the very same thing right up front (that the BATF was the enforcement agency). To date, only one rep has stayed to finish hsi sales pitch.

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.
