After having opened and having witnessed the opening of many presents over the last few days, I must admit to having less than good will toward some of my fellow men. I think that it would be interesting to take the guy that invented those "welded shut" clear plastic containers that have supplanted boxes, intice a snake to inject him with a fairly fast-acting poison, and hand him an snake-bite kit contained in one of his own @#$% containers. Might as well do the same with all who decide to package in same.

Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

And make sure the snake bite kit requires a battery type that is only available from one source that is open every fifth Tuesday of the month!

I got angry a few years ago over the packaging crap. Now there's a pair of utility scissors, wire cutters, an assault box cutter, screw driver with interchangable bits, and needle nose pliers very handy Christmas morning.

I've noticed, at least some, of those types of packaging are starting to come with perforations making them easier to open. Still isn't as easy as it should be, anyone with arthiritis has a most painful time with them.

I have often thought that Hell for packaging engineers should be to spend eternity trying to open their own creations.

And our rattlers are like angle worms compared to the ones you have down there. If I were down there I am thinking I would apply the Ruark theory of use enough gun! 12 gauge ought to work just fine! These up here can be handled with a shovel! grin

Not that big, 4-5 feet is the big range. Most I caught were in the 3-4 ft range.

Welded box = Made In China

I avoid them; too bad most of my relatives do not....if you have wee ones they are un-avoidable.

I just leave the pruner out after I pretty up the Christmas tree....it cuts that plastic quite nicely. Couple of years ago I was using a little cigar knife to open some damn thing and got a deep nasty cut from the ragged edge of the plastic container.

If T. has a problem finding a sufficiently venomous serpent, there's plenty around here, and its warm, so they're up and about.
