I am curious could you do the following to barrels that had already been chambered.
25/06 punched to 257 Wby?
270 Win to 270 Wby?
270 WSM to 270 Wby?
Thx

.270 to .270 Wby--definitely. I have a pre-64 Model 70 that I had done. Shoots really well and looks stock other than the new stamping on the barrel.

Thx-that would have to mean that the 25/06 to 257 Wby would be fine as well, I kind of thought those two would work.
I wonder about a 270 WSM to a Wby?
Thx

I can't imagine the WSM action would be long enough...but I think you're you're talking about takeoff barrels, so the question come down to case diameter maybe?
The 270 wsm looks to be a fatter case, so I'd say no. Maybe with a MAJOR barrel set back but even then I think you'd be to far into the tube.
But I'm one of the newer ones in this custom stuff and by no means a gunsmith.

The 270 Weatherby is to narrow in the body just in front of the belt to clean up the 270WSM chamber.

The 270 Weatherby is to narrow in the body just in front of the belt to clean up the 270WSM chamber. That is what I was thinking as well. The others should clean up fine (I think)
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....
