I've been doing some more "horse-trading" and ended up with another Sig that I have been wanting. When I acquired my first Sig I was warned to be very careful...that once the signess strikes, it's hard to get well again!

Sig Sauer P6 made in West Germany. A slim 9mm single stack that makes carrying it very easy....it has had a ramp polish job that makes it feed JHP's flawlessly and has been refinished by Todd at Custom Creations.





Preliminary range results (that translates to shooting it out the back door into the woods!) indicate it's as accurate as it looks.

Nice looking leather you got for it-what holster is it?
I have a P220 and decided to add a stable mate with the same P6 and am sure glad. That P6 is such a comfy size and drives them as straight as my P220.

The holster was thrown in on the deal. It's an "Old World Leather" brand holster. Unfortuantely they went out of business several years back. Ihave a few other pieces of their stuff and like it a lot. I have a SOB for my j frame snubbie that works well.

when these P6's started coming in, they varied in age of manufacturer from the late 70's from memory up to the late 90's. It would be marked on the barrel.
They also were often sold with a german swivel holster that was pretty neat. I also managed to get a left hand holster as described above, and a left hand german police shoulder holster.
I think all of them were marked NW, which would be north westphalia, or the northern part of germany. Which tickled me because my ancesteral roots are near hamburg in northern germany. I have a friend in bavaria that might have the ability to actually trace the serial number to the guy who had it there. Some came with the german manual, box numbered to the gun, and police test target. They are fine little shooters. The stuff I have read seems to indicated they weren't shot a lot. As to the age of the pistol, the earlier ones had trouble with jacketed rounds, the later ones did not. i might add that with one of mine my daughter who is a pretty fair shot had no problem wacking 12 guage hulls at about 12 to 15 yards offhand with one of these. A testimony as much to the pistol as her. I think the cheapest i was them was about 249bucks. I had an opportunity to paw through a number of them(in the hundreds) and some were just not used.

The P6's are scarce now. A glut of them arrived maybe 2 years ago. The ones I have shot were very accurate. Takes a little time to clean the storage gunk off. Hard if not impossible to find extra mags.

Extra mags can be found, but are very pricey! I'm looking to find one more on the cheap side if I can, but will pony up the $40 if I have to. I like to have at least three mags for my carry guns. Mind you I'm not talking a "tactical" gun that should have 8 or so mags.

I picked up a P6 for each of my sons and they are a good buy IMO.
I'm glad I picked them up when they were $249.00

Congrats! I'd be curious to see a shot that shows the slimness of it. Maybe show it next to a 1911 from a slim shot angle.

I don't recall the P6 (or any other Sig for that matter) being slim on the order of the 1911...In that department, JMG still really doesn't have any real competition.

Pro-Mag makes replacement mags, and they are pretty good. Not SIG good, but good enough.

P6s, are sweet. Had two, shot more; none failed to impress.

Promags work for the range but would seriously reconsider using one for carry.

Those promags are in the standard round count, but also in ten round configeration.
I did not think them that expensive.

I might add another comment on these. I correspond regularly with a guy in bavaria, have mentioned to him of joining this forum. Might already be monitoring it.
He has a P6 and we have discussed them. Got the idea that the german police really do not fire a lot of rounds per year.
You might see 100rounds through the standard issue gun.
So if you have the date of the p6, like one of mine was made in 1999, that ain't a lot of ammo downrange.
Those holsters that came with them were swivels, and detachable, primarily made for guys riding around in a automobile. There is a german name for them.
I told him they must not want a cop to shoot anybody very bad, given the double retention system. His comment is the german system is if they run into a bad guy, they basically call their version of a swat team, which is a much different proposition than the standard cop.
